Research Blog #10: Final Abstract and Works Cited Abstract This analytic research paper addresses the recent social and cultural history of the last half century of American societies view on alcohol. With specific focus on the accompanying studies, laws, reforms, and protests/organizations that shaped this time-period, the paper will outline the progression of college drinking culture. The course of history will be shown to shape the rise of dangerous and underground drinking culture that has been affecting students for decades. From the outline of historical events, conclusions will be able to be drawn on how the current college dynamic has been developed and by specific cases, such as National Lampoon’s Animal House , the minimum legal drinking age raise, and the Amethyst Initiative, determination of the next best course of action, renormalizing alcohol in society, will be highlighted.
